    Background

    Charging Dock Stations is a brand that specializes in manufacturing high-quality charging stations and chargers for a variety of devices, including Apple accessories and controllers, Samsung devices, and other popular brands. They have been in business on Amazon since 2020 and started selling their products on Amazon. They quickly established a strong presence in the market, offering a wide range of products such as charging cables, car chargers, and wireless chargers.

    However, despite their initial success, the brand began to struggle with sales as a result of hijackers copying their products and listing them on Amazon at lower prices. This not only affected the brand’s revenue but also its reputation as customers often mistook the counterfeit products for the original. Additionally, the brand also lacked knowledge and experience in identifying and dealing with hijackers which further compounded the problem. As a result, the brand’s sales started to decline gradually over time

    At the end of October 2022, Charging Dock Stations reached out to us with the goal of reviving their sales and maintaining profitability. Despite having a strong start in the market, the brand had been struggling with declining sales due to issues with product hijacking and a lack of knowledge on how to effectively deal with the problem. With the ambition to turn their business around, the brand sought out our help to find solutions and strategies to regain their market share and protect their brand.

  • CHALLENGES

    The Challenges

    • The listings for Charging Dock Stations were frequently hijacked by third-party sellers, resulting in lost sales and damage to the brand’s reputation

    • The content of the listings was outdated, for example, the listings for iPhone adapters stated that they were only compatible with iPhone 13 series and previous series, while they were also compatible with iPhone 14, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max, which was not included in the listing

    • The advertising campaigns were not targeting the latest keywords, meaning that no recent keyword research had been done. As a result, the campaigns were utilizing outdated keywords, which hindered their effectiveness

    • There was no backend optimization of the listings, which further hindered the visibility of their products on Amazon

    • The campaigns were facing challenges due to the limited number of manually targeted, highly relevant keywords. This made it difficult to reach the desired target audience and resulted in a lack of control over budgets and bids

    • The campaigns had minimal negative keywords and some campaigns even had 0 negatives added, which resulted in reaching irrelevant audiences

  • THE PLAN

    So here is the plan that we proposed: First of all We will protect the brand against hijacking by using tools such as Brand Registry and Amazon’s infringement reporting system, and potentially also using a brand protection service. We will review and update all product listings to ensure that they are accurate, up-to-date, and include all relevant information, including compatibility with the latest models of devices. We will optimize product listings by including relevant keywords, backend optimization, and conduct regular keyword research to identify relevant keywords and phrases to target in advertising campaigns. We will create manual campaigns for highly relevant keywords to increase control over budgets and bids and reach the desired target audience. We will utilize negative keywords in advertising campaigns to exclude irrelevant search terms and reach a more relevant audience. We will regularly monitor and analyze the campaigns and performance to make necessary adjustments.

THE STEPS TOWARDS THE VICTORY
  • FIRST STEP

    Removing Hijackers

    We started by identifying and removing unauthorized sellers who hijacked the Charging Dock Stations products. We used tools such as Brand Registry and Amazon’s infringement reporting system, and potentially also used a brand protection service to ensure that only authorized sellers were able to list the products on Amazon

  • SECOND STEP

    Extensive Keywords Research

    Once the hijackers were removed we conducted in-depth keyword research to identify the most relevant keywords for Charging Dock Stations products. We used a combination of tools, including the Amazon Advertising Console, Helium 10, and Data Dive to ensure that we had a comprehensive list of keywords to work with. We aimed to find 100% relevant long-tail keywords as we knew specific keywords would help us reach a more targeted audience and drive more relevant traffic to the products.

  • THIRD STEP

    Listing’s SEO ( Front-end optimization )

    After conducting keyword research, optimizing the front end of the product listings was next. This included improving the visual appeal of the listings by ensuring high-quality, professional photographs were used to clearly show the products from multiple angles. We also focused on optimizing the product titles and descriptions by writing descriptive and keyword-rich titles and descriptions highlighting the products’ key features and benefits. This helped the products stand out in search results and provided potential customers with the information they needed to make a purchase. We also utilized bullet points to quickly and effectively highlight the key features and benefits of the products, which helped make the products more appealing to potential customers and increased the chances of a sale. Finally, we included relevant keywords in the titles, descriptions, and bullet points to ensure that the products would show up in relevant search results.

  • FOURTH STEP

    Listing’s SEO ( Back-end optimization )

    In addition to optimizing the front-end of their listings, we also focused on optimizing the back-end to further improve the visibility and performance of their products.
    To optimize the back-end of the listings, we started by thoroughly selecting specific keywords from our researched keywords list to include in the listing’s back-end.
    For this purpose, the CATEGORY LISTING REPORT works like a charm. We also utilized enhanced brand content back-end to add additional information/keywords. This helped improve the perceived value of the products and increased organic traffic.

  • FIFTH STEP

    Full-Funnel Campaigns Implementation

    We then developed a full-funnel PPC campaign strategy that would target potential customers at every stage of the purchasing process. We created manual SP exact targeting ads to drive traffic to the product pages, targeting only 100% relevant, long-tail keywords. This helped increase sales and lower the ACoS. We also implemented broad-modified and keyword-targeted headline ads through sponsored brand ads, which appear at the top of search results and help increase the visibility of the products. We used retargeting ads to remind potential customers of the products and encourage them to make a purchase. We also used review request emails to encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews, which can help improve the perceived value of the products and increase conversions.

  • SIXTH STEP

    Conversion rate optimization

    We then implemented CRO techniques such as A/B testing to identify and address any bottlenecks in our offer, and to determine the most effective combination of keywords and ad copy that improved the conversion rate of campaigns.

  • SEVENTH STEP

    PPC Optimization

    We continuously monitored and optimized the PPC campaigns, including monitoring the performance of keywords, ad copy, and targeting, to ensure that the campaigns were reaching the desired target audience and driving the most sales at the lowest cost. This included adjusting bids, budgets, and targeting as needed to improve performance and achieve the best results. We also regularly reviewed and updated the keywords and ad copy to ensure that they were up-to-date and relevant to the target audience. Additionally, we closely monitored the metrics such as click-through rate, conversion rate, and return on ad spend to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions on how to optimize the campaigns for maximum performance.

  • EIGHTH STEP

    Brand Protection

    We also implemented brand protection measures to ensure that the brand’s intellectual property is protected and to prevent unauthorized sellers from listing counterfeit products. This includes monitoring the brand’s listings, reporting any infringement, and taking legal action where necessary.

  • NINTH STEP

    Listings Content Update

    We made sure that all the product listings were updated with the most recent and accurate information, including compatible devices, detailed descriptions, and high-quality images.

Measuring Success

After starting service with Arial Consulting Group, Charging Dock Stations experienced a new level of sales performance increased by over 780% in less than 2 months! As the sales boom continues, we are constantly adapting and improving the campaigns which have contributed to a massive drop in TACoS. The TACoS has already dropped by more than 15% and we are expecting a further decrease as we obtain more data and further optimize the campaigns.
